In short
Chuck's taught digital & content marketing in various forms... To good feedback!
In short
I've taught marketing and content since 2013 in various settings, mostly in BSchools and through my own online program. This also briefly included an adjunct professor stint. Feedback from students has (largely!) been good, with several even staying in touch.
Subjects taught
Digital marketing (at various levels - though I am partial to the base introductory courses)
Content marketing
Social media marketing
This does not include my side ventures The 6% Club (finding and executing a personal creative project), and Unstuck (building a more intentional life) - though those could technically be called teaching.

Online programs
I took the digtal marketing sprint for the popular Stoa program. A 'sprint' included a daily mailer of 15-20 minutes of reading material for a week, followed by 4 hours of live sessions on the weekend where I would take them through some topics in a little more detail. It was very industry-focused and involved some interesting assignments. I taught there for 4 sprints between 2023-2024.
My own program: No Faff Sessions
By far what I am proudest of most, teaching-wise, would be the digital marketing sessions I took during the pandemic. The idea was to teach folks in mainline advertising a few useful basics of digital. What started off as an experiment hoping to get 5 people turned into a massive success: 4 cohorts were taught, with close to 250 attending - with attendees cutting across mainline and digital, students and marketing veterans, some entrepreneurs and designers, and a lot more.
My emphasis here was on practicality, learning from case studies, and some simple frameworks that could easily be applied to many situations. Dare I say, those are still holding up nicely. The feedback I got for this program was overwhelmingly positive, and really gave me purpose at that time. It also validated my decision to work for myself and that I could execute experiments successfully. I stopped running the program in 2021 to focus on other things - but there's no doubt this laid the groundwork for my future adjunct stint at FLAME, and the mentoring I do with my current non-marketing courses.
Some fun and perhaps over-boxed slides below.
Apart from these
I've also done a few workshops on digital marketing and content for a few companies - mostly online during the pandemic.
My approach
I've always wanted to teach like how I'd like to be taught. So I try to keep it light, relatable and meet participants where they are (when teahcing UG at FLAME, this meant having a view on an uncomfortable amount of GenZ passion points). But yes, I'd often use examples outside the world of marketing - something that Rough Paper itself believes strongly in.
I am also a fan of teaching to outcome: I saw no point introducing analytics and website wireframing in an intro to digital marketing class. At the same time, the industry folks who took the No Faff Sessions needed to quickly upskill to sound smarter at work, so I tried to curate examples to that end.
Whatever I taught, I wanted it to be timeless - concepts that would be useful many years later even if the digital landscape changes. When I look at the NoFaff Sessions today (2026), I can see that the examples may be old (and my design choices very suspect) but I'm happy I still use the same frameworks myself today. Hopefully that's stood by some of my 2014 era students too.
Future teaching plans
I don't intend to teach in colleges and universities anymore (even guest sessions) - as much as I love doing it, it takes a lot of prep and involvement I don't have the time for at the moment.
I am open to doing workshops for corporates and teams : Though I would like to co-create the subject rather than deliver pre-determined material. I believe my strengths (and some workshop-friendly topics) lie around getting inspired through multiple sources, curation of relevant case studies, building company-specific content marketing frameworks, and personal content creation (especially useful for leadership).
I may, if enthusiasm and time permit, record an updated version of the NoFaff Sessions and some other things I taught at FLAME - just to keep them online for posterity.
I will, someday, collate the feedback that I've received over the years. Less to act as a testimonial and more just to make me smile. Till then, I guess this will have to do.
